1920’s Platinum Ring

Description

This is a domed 1920’s beauty; set with one approximately .87 carat Old European Cut center and four smaller Old European Cut diamond accents, totaling approximately .30 carats. Center diamond is SI 2, J color; smaller stones are VS-SI clarity and J color. There is no carat stamp but this ring has been tested by a goldsmith to be platinum. The brilliance of the diamonds speaks to the age old skill of fine diamond cutters.

The fine floral and foliate patterns separated by mil grained wires will please you every time you look at it. Notice the fine hand engraved patterns down the ring shank and you will appreciate even more the antique crafting that made this ring. This is one to pass down to the family, just not too soon.

The ring weighs 2.8 dwt (or 4.3 grams). It is finger size 7, and can be sized a moderate amount up or down by a trained goldsmith. The top measures approximately 12.6 mm wide across the top, the bottom of the shank is approximately 1mm wide. There is some wear on the ring, attesting to its age and heritage, but still lovely enough to proudly wear today.
